Sri Lanka’s development today is largely focused on physical infrastructure. However, a country cannot progress without developing its human resources. Therefore, physical infrastructure development must go hand in hand with human resource development. The main objective of the Foundation is to promote spiritual development by conducting workshops and seminars. In addition, the Foundation aims to create self-employment opportunities, support economic advancement by providing credit facilities, and offer material donations to those in need.

03. Mapiya Saviya - Strengthening of Parenthood

Parents are a valuable asset to any society. They nurture and support us through great effort and dedication, providing us with constant care and guidance. They embody four noble qualities: loving-kindness, compassion, generosity, and tolerance. The unconditional love they give us is immeasurable. It is the duty and responsibility of society to protect their well-being and ensure that they are treated with love, dignity, and respect. Recognising the importance of these values, the Foundation has established this community service project to improve the well-being and quality of life of parents and elderly individuals by providing healthcare services, nutritious food, essential medicines, and counselling support.

04. Suva Saviya - The Community Health Service

The Paramadhamma Foundation of the temple provides a wide range of welfare services to the community, primarily through five key areas of support. One of its main initiatives is the health-focused “Suva Saviya” programme. Inspired by the Buddhist teaching that good health is one of life’s greatest blessings, the Foundation aims to promote a healthier society by encouraging good health practices and healthy lifestyles. Special attention is given to people with disabilities, individuals with special needs, and those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. The Foundation strives to support them by providing medical assistance, essential equipment, and other necessities to improve their health, well-being, and quality of life.

05. Dam Saviya - Inculcating The Doctrine

Calming a troubled mind can be challenging. Although keeping pace with modern technology and progressing in life are essential, it is equally important to learn to let go of unnecessary distractions. Otherwise, a restless mind can negatively affect not only an individual but also society as a whole. From a Buddhist perspective, learning to calm and discipline the mind helps individuals lead more peaceful, meaningful, and fulfilling lives, both in the present and beyond. With this in mind, the Paramadhamma Foundation has introduced religious programmes and Dhamma book publishing initiatives to promote mental peace, spiritual development, and a society with greater emotional balance and well-being.
